For the safety of pets, owners, and sitters, every hired walk is tracked using GPS -- either the location services on the sitter's own phone while they have the app open and the walk in progress, or a hardware pet tracker (either the pet's own, or one the sitter temporarily attaches for that walk) when one is available.
By accepting a job -- whether applying to an open job or accepting a direct offer -- a sitter agrees that their phone's location, and/or a tracker's location, is sent to and stored on our servers for the duration of that hire. This location data is used to:
Location tracking only applies while a hired (non-self) walk is in progress -- it is not collected outside of active, paid walks.
Owners and sitters must verify their identity (a government ID and a selfie) before posting or accepting jobs, and sitters must have a verified payout method before accepting a job.
